By Diane Ingram.

Start your holiday festivities with a “Candy Land Christmas” at Palmetto Historical Park and Manatee County Agricultural Museum. On Friday, December 4th and Saturday, December 5th from 5:00 – 9:00 pm, this free event offers something for everyone. Enjoy creatively decorated buildings, kids’ crafts, Reindeer Games, entertainment and of course, Santa! Something new to Christmas in the Park this year is SNOW! Children will be able to play in the snow area and perhaps experience this delight for the first time.

Featured activities include an “Honor Tree” in the Military Museum, sweets and candy recipes to collect in each of the park buildings, contests for prizes, model trains, a petting corral and letters to Santa. Early Learning Coalition will be conducting a book give-away and car seat education. A plant sale and silent auction will take place both evenings. Santa Claus will be arriving at 6:00. Bring your own camera for a photo with Santa. Food vendors on the premises include.

The Sweet Shop raises fund for the Park and Museum’s family programming.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand will be raising funds for children’s cancer research and the Sweet Shop will raise funds for family programming.
