Hello Anglers, Why do “tug boats” push their barges? Just a little humor to start things off. I hope everyone had a fantastic February. For those of you I had the pleasure to have out last month, Thank you! February was incredible. With Spring like weather we had the best fishing I have ever had this time of year. February usually has some good days but this year the consistency of a good bite was off the chart. March should be better as we will start to add a few more species to the catch list. I expect the spanish mackerel to show up at any time with the water temps already being in the 70’s.IMG_2893

The tarpon and shark bite will also start to evolve as Spring arrives. The snook, trout, and redfish game will stay good and the occasional cobia will make their appearance. In the past two weeks I have noticed the trout bite has gotten better and we have started catching much bigger trout. March, April, and May is “go time” here in the bay. Heat up the grease because the fish fry is on the schedule. Until next time good luck and be safe on the water. Remember: don’t let your kid be the one that got away, take them fishing! Take care and tightlines.

IMG_2903If you haven’t checked out Pirates Pointe Resort yet, take the time to go online and view. Tom and Tammy Saxon are making it the hidden gem of Florida’s west coast. You will not be disappointed.

I still have split trips available if you are interested in fishing with someone else. Who knows, you may make a friend and get a new fishing buddy.

Thanks again,

Ric
